Towards the end of the academic year, Grade 5 students spend a dedicated working day in the Middle School. This experience allows them to familiarise themselves with new routines, learning spaces, expectations, and organisational systems. Students are encouraged to reflect on their experience through a transition diary, which helps us identify areas of support and continually enhance the transition process.
Parents are an integral part of this journey. Dedicated parent sessions are conducted to provide insights into Middle School learning, the skills expected of Grade 6 students, and practical ways parents can support their child at home during this phase of change.
To ensure continuity of care and learning, Grade 5 teachers work closely with the Middle School faculty. Detailed transition meetings and comprehensive student information sharing help the Grade 6 team gain a clear understanding of each child’s academic strengths, learning needs, and personal development.
Through this collaborative approach, we ensure that every student enters Middle School feeling prepared, supported, and confident to take the next step in their learning journey.
